Margaret Beach Obituary

BEACH, Margaret WALTERBORO - Mrs. Margaret Varnadoe Beach, 83, of 251 Carolina Circle, Walterboro died Saturday morning, October 15, 2005, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. Funeral services will be held 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, October 18, 2005, in Zion Baptist Church, Walterboro. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Beach was born February 10, 1922, in Ruffin and was a daughter of the late Dewey H. Varnadoe and the late Fannie Mae Bassett Varnadoe. She was a retired service worker for many years, having retired from the Walterboro Dress Plant and was also a retired employee from the Colleton County Senior Citizen Program. She was the widow of Mr. Richard Albert Beach. She was a longtime member of Zion Baptist Church where she was active in all aspects of the church. At Zion Church, she was a past chairperson of the Cemetery Committee, was a retired Church Clerk in which capacity she served for many years, was a past director for the Women's Missionary Union, was a former Sunday School Teacher and member of the Adult Choir. She has been best known by many people for always placing God first, and making her church her life. She will always be remembered for centering her life around her loving family and being a wonderful mother and grandmother. Surviving are: her son, Rex Beach and his wife Nancy Beach of Walterboro; two daughters, Miriam Blocker and her husband Charles of Walterboro and Linda Hickman and her husband LaVerne of Walterboro; and two sisters, Betty Beach and Nell Lyons both of Walterboro. There are seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter that also survive. Flowers will be accepted or the family has suggested for those that wish may direct memorial contributions in her memory to: Zion Baptist Church, 152 Ruffin Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488. Ms.Margaret has always been a friend and mentor to us and our children. She was a wonderful Christian lady and will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with the family. God bless you all.
