Marcel Meyer
Marcel J. Meyer, 91, of Trenton, Ill., born Sept. 14, 1914, in Mascoutah Township, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Meyer was a farmer. He was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden, Ill., the Mascoutah Moose and St. Clair County Farm Bureau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Catherine, nee Loehr, Meyer; and a sister, Cecelia B. Meyer.
Surviving are his two sisters, Agatha (Ray) Laux of rural New Baden, Ill., and Loretta Meyer of rural New Baden, Ill.; two nephews, Frank (Diana) Laux of Wheeling, Ill., and Verlan Laux of Trenton, Ill.; a niece, Kathy (Dave) Rudy of Mascoutah, Ill.; and great nieces and great nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. George Church or to the donor's choice and will be received at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hempenfuneralhome.com

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at Hempen Funeral Home, New Baden, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral: Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at St. George Catholic Church, New Baden, Ill., with the Rev. Eugene Neff officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, New Baden, Ill.
