We were so deeply shocked by Melissa's request for prayers for Chip on the night of his death. You know of and should never forget the important role you all played in our lives while in South Carolina.

We remember Chip very fondly in his time with us at All Saints in Richmond. He was so warm and loving in his ministry to us. He always had a hug or warm smile to share with us! We have followed his ministry through the years and wished that at some time he would come back to Richmond. Our love and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

Today's memorial service to Chip was a wonderful tribute to his memory. My prayers and thoughts are with the entire Valentine family.

I will never forget Fr. Chip and his bright beaming smile...my thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

A job well done indeed faithful servant.

I grew up with Chip and his family on West Avenue and have such wonderful memories of our youth together.
Jimmy, Terry, Mary Robbins and the rest of his famly are in my thoughts and prayers.

I recall fond memories of Chip Valentine as Captain of the TJ Cadet Corps Band from 1964-1965. Chip's leadership of the Band, his humor, and his kindness will

Father Chip married my husband John and I on December 16, 1989 @ Caesar's Head, SC. and now both John and Fr. Chip are at home with our Heavenly Father. What a wonderful pastor he was to us. I had the honor of seeing Mr. Chip hold his granddaughter on the first day she was born. The look of love and joy on his face is one I will never forget. This kind and wonderful man lives on through his beautiful daughters and that sweet baby.

We love you uncle Chip, we will miss you.

I am sorry for your loss and the loss of a fellow brother in gray from the TJCC Band. We of the TJCC Alumni Band will strike up "Jeffersonian" and "Maroon and Gold" in Capt. "Chips" memory at our next practice. While the drum cadence will fade in the distance, the memories never will.

I knew Chip mostly by reputation but greatly enjoyed the few times we were able to converse in person when he returned to Richmond. His late parents, Dottie and Buzz, were good friends from whom I learned a good many life lessons including the joy and rewards of serving the Church as a layperson.

Like his parents, Chip was a sincere, dedicated, and effective servant of the Lord. I offer my prayers of thanksgiving for his life and service and pray that the Holy Spirit will be ever present and comfort his family and friends. Of Chip one can confidently believe the Lord has said "Well done my good and faithful servant"

As a first cousin and fellow pastor serving the Lord, but living in the "north" for the last 22 years, I grieve we didn't get to spend more time together. I will treasure a memory of talking one afternoon at mattawan 6-7 years ago, about the Lord, ministry, and it's stresses. See you in heaven my friend. Allen Valentine Kemp

I remember Chip very fondly from his time at All Saints in Richmond. I was in the youth group at the time, and he was a great mentor to us all. It's funny that he was only with our church for 2 years, because it seemed much longer. He made a great impression in that short time, and I have thought of him often over the years. My prayers are with your family during this time of loss.

Sharon, Brown and I were shocked to hear about Chip. Still remember those beautiful gardens he planted and tended every year and how caring he was when Brown had surgery. He loved his family dearly and I know he leaves a huge hole in all of your hearts.
