Malley "Tommy" Alexander
Summerville - Malley "Tommy" Thomas Alexander, 77, of Summerville, SC, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025. Born on November 2, 1948, in Charleston, SC, he was the son of the late Malley Moore Alexander, Jr. and Lois Dantzler Alexander. Tommy was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Army. After his military service, he began working for U.S. Lines, LLC, followed by the South Carolina Ports Authority before starting his own business in warehouse distribution. Tommy shared a beautiful life with his wife, Renee Crowson Alexander, whom he loved dearly throughout their 44 wonderful years of marriage. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Perhaps his proudest accomplishment was being an excellent father to his children and grandfather to his grandchildren. Tommy was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, serving as chairman of the Deacons and also helping build the Church. He had a strong friend group which he loved to play golf with on occasion. Known for his outgoing and caring personality, Tommy touched the lives of many and made a lasting impact on everyone he met. He will be remembered not only for his service to his country and his commitment to his work, but even more for his love of family and the kindness he showed others. He is survived by his loving wife, Renee Alexander; his children: Bryce Alexander (Amy) and Brett Alexander (Meredith); his grandchildren: Cameron Alexander, Wyatt Alexander, and Jace Alexander; his siblings: Mary Motes, Lois Ann Hardee (Billy), and Don Alexander; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Chad Hardee; as well as his brother-in-law, James Motes. A visitation of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 10360 Hwy 78 E, Summerville, SC 29483, at 1:00pm. Burial will immediately follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens.
