Mack Austin Obituary

AUSTIN, Mack Mr. Mack Christopher Austin, 86, of Cooper Store Road, Moncks Corner, SC, a retiree of G.S. Carter & Sons Lumber Company, died Thursday morning in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday morning, July 23, 2005, in the Wassamassaw Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. this Friday evening. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Wassamassaw Baptist Church, PO Box 926, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Mr. Austin was born November 26, 1918, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of Thomas Ayers Austin and Annie Julia Scott Austin. He is the widower of Wealthy Wright Austin. Mr. Austin is a member of Wassamassaw Baptist Church where he was a member of the men's Sunday school class and a long term usher until his failing health. He is a US Army veteran. Mr. Austin was employed by the Mead Westvaco Paper Mill and the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a painter. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Frances Patrick-Eckert and her husband Glenn E. Eckert of Summerville; a son and daughter-in-law, Mack Odell Austin and his wife Ann Williams Austin of Cross; a sister, Frances Murray-Clark of Moncks Corner; five grandchildren, Kimberly P. Kinard of Summerville, Joel Patrick of San Antonio, Texas, Rodney Patrick of Summerville, Brad Austin of Charleston, and Kent Austin of Jacksonville, Fla.; and five great-grandchildren.
