Lynda Byrd Obituary

Lynda Byrd St. George, SC - Lynda Greager Byrd, of 178 Mt. Zion Road, St. George, wife of Philip Lewis Byrd, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 01, 2017 at Colleton Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Friday at Reevesville Baptist Church with the Reverend David Swofford and Dr. Ron Heddle officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blake Byrd, Chris Biering, Jamie Carn, Robert Suber, Gregg Hill and Brian Reeves. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home. Lynda was born on August 27, 1955 in Corona, California, a daughter of the late John Ellsworth and Helen Frances Singletary Greager. She was a graduate of Holly Hill High School and a 1977 graduate of Baptist College. She was a school teacher at Dorchester Academy and former owner of Byrd's Specialty Company. She was a member of Reevesville Baptist Church and was predeceased by a son, Philip Lewis Byrd, Jr. and her father and mother-in-law, James Edward Byrd, Sr. and Carolyn Heaton Byrd Hilton. Surviving are her husband, Philip Lewis Byrd, Sr.; a son, Jeremy Edward (Kristie) Byrd, St. George; grandchildren, Landyn Byrd, Philip Lewis "Trey" Byrd, III and Baker Byrd; a sister, Shirley Greager (Joe) Veno, Pinopolis; brother-in-law, Eddie (Lyn) Byrd, Orangeburg; a nephew, Blake Byrd, Reevesville; nieces, Carmen (Chris) Biering, Pinopolis and Lyndsay Veno, Moncks Corner; a number of great-nieces and nephews and her beloved pet, Brody. Memorials may be made to Magnolia Cemetery, 102 Main Street, Reevesville, SC 29471 or to a charity of one's choice. Online condolences may be made at bryantfuneral.info.
