Luther L. Collins "Tom" Goose Creek - Luther L. Collins "Tom," 92, of Goose Creek, SC, departed for eternal rest on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Luther was Born on February 18, 1929 to the late John Jackson and Bessie Belle Collins in Cario, GA. He is survived by: Glenn & Trisha Collins of Awendaw, SC, Charles & Tammy Collins of Ladson, SC, Chris & Pam Collins of Charleston, SC, Charlotte Collins Sabo & Tom Sabo of Chillicothe, OH and James & Karen Collins of Goose Creek, SC, 26 grandchildren, 55 great- grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Luther preceded in death by: Helen M. Collins (first wife), Rosella R. Collins (second wife), Lance Collins (son), Diana Collins Wolf (daughter), Stacy Wolf Reynolds (granddaughter), Nick Goossens (grandson). Luther served in the US Air Force from 1947 to 1969 and retired as a School Teacher in 1995. He was a strong supporter of DAV and a distinguished veteran serving in WWII, Korean, and Vietnam, and many other capacities during his career. Luther enjoyed traveling, with different family members to trace the family's genealogy as a hobby. He also enjoyed fishing, eating shrimp, oysters, caught or bought and many different fish. Luther was a Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and will be deeply missed by the family. The family would like to provide a Special Thanks to Ms. Margarette Mack for the for the caregiving she provided during his later years. A Visitation will be held Friday February 11, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday February 12, 2012 at Carolina Memorial Chapel from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with burial to follow.
