Lucille Virginia Davis Brown SUMMERVILLE - Lucille Virginia Davis Brown, age 87, of Summerville, SC and formerly of Charleston, SC, widow of CW04 Charles E. Brown USN (Ret), died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Hospice Center of Charleston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service on Tuesday afternoon, December 17, 2013 at 1 o'clock at The Village at Summerville Chapel. Burial will be held at Live Oak Memorial Gardens following the service at 3 o'clock. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The Village at Summerville - PCSC, 201 W. 9th North St., Summerville, SC 29483 or Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1157 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Charleston, SC 29407. Mrs. Brown was born May 29, 1926, daughter of the late Dewey George Davis and the late Thelma Buckner Davis of Pleasant Gardens, NC. She traveled extensively while being the wife of a Navy man. Upon his retirement, they settled in Charleston with their family and began a new career in real estate until their retirement in 1993. She was an ordained Deacon and a member of Westminster Church for over 35 years. Survivors include one daughter, Janet Lynn Brown of Charleston; one son, Arthur R. Brown of Summerville; two grandsons, Michael L. Wireman (Joy) and Jamie M. Brown, all of Charleston; two granddaughters, Candace and Christine Brown of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was predeceased by two sons, Charles E. Brown. Jr. and Michael L. Brown, two brothers, George D. Davis and Harold E. Davis, and two sisters, Lenny J. Davis and Reta Mae Messer. Ms. Lucy will truly be missed. I enjoyed eating lunch with her and my grandmother at the Presbyterian home. She always made me smile and I enjoyed her stories.
