Lova Jean Bullmam SUMMERVILLE - Lova Jean Bullman of Summerville, passed away peacefully during the night of Wednesday, January 23, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at noon at Knightsville United Methodist Church, 1505 Central Avenue, Summerville, SC. Lova Jean was born in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of the late Lee Hastings McAbee and Hattie Tipton McAbee. She married Robert Eugene "Gene" Bullman on March 29, 1959. They made their home in Summerville. She joined Knightsville United Methodist Church 1965. Lova Jean was a devoted wife and mother. She went to work for Dorchester County School District II in 1981, and later became Dorchester District Two's Food Service and Custodial Manager. She served as a board member with the South Carolina School Food Service Association, winning several awards. Her favorite saying was, "If it's to be, it's up to me", which she learned from her beloved mother, Hattie. She certainly lived her life that way. Lova Jean is survived by her loving husband, Robert Eugene "Gene" Bullman: her children, Donna Denise Gardner (Donnie) and Robert Eugene Bullman, II (Susan); four grandchildren, Sean, Kallen, Bryce and Jessie. It was certainly a privilege to know and work with Lova Jean in the School Nutrition Organization. It was an honor to have known such gracious, talented and caring friend. Lova Jean will be missed, but never forgotten.
