Louise Sabasch Obituary

SABASCH, Louise Victoria
1924 - 2015

Louise was our mom. She was born near Kelstern, Saskatchewan in her parents' farmhouse ninety years ago. She passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015. Mom was twenty years old when she and dad married in 1945, and they had five children. They farmed for eleven years, and then moved to Calgary. Mom was a real old fashioned lady; she easily made friends and loved to visit with people. We are all going to miss her a lot. She leaves behind her sons and daughters, Diane (Gord), Caryl, Deb, Gary (Lynn) and Craig, and her three grandchildren; Jayme, Neale and Aaron. A Celebration of her life will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. If you knew Louise and would like to join us in remembering her, please come. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.

So sorry to hear about your mother.
In the last few months of your mother's life I spoke quite a bit to your mother on the phone. So thankful for those few times we talked; may God comfort you.

We heard that your dear Mom, Louise, passed away at the milestone age of 90 years, and we want to express our deepest sympathy and condolences to all the Family.

We were away for 3 weeks on a Cruise to Hawaii, and just returned this past Saturday evening; otherwise we would have been at the Service on February 5th.

We remember Louise with great fondness--she was always such a jolly Lady. It had been our intention to phone her (from Victoria, where we will be in March) to sing "Happy Birthday" again for her 91st on March 25th.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely, Cliff and Marj Fiesel

Dear Caryl, Gary, Craig, Diane, Deb,
Jayme called to let me know that your Mom (your precious ‘Mutti') has passed away. I am so sorry to hear the news. My sincerest condolences to each of you & your families. Thinking of you so much. My memories of ‘Mrs. S', as I called her, will always be of her kindnesses to me, her laugh, her faith & strength. She is ‘one of the good ones',that is for sure! She was loving, (& so much more), and loved in return. She is reunited with your Dad (her ‘Bill') after 17 years,(almost to the day), and with many others who were no doubt waiting to greet her. May your hearts know peace.
Hugs, Brenda Smith

Sincere condolences from another family from the old Highwood days. Didn't our folks have a grand time socializing at all the potlucks there. It is so difficult to lose your Mother, ever, and we hope that time will lessen the heartache and bring back wonderful little memories that bring smiles to your faces at the most random and unexpected times. Sincerely, Sheila Kidd (Cuch) on behalf of all the Cuch family

So sorry to hear about your Mom. She was such a sweet lady! My parents and I would have loved to attend her service, but were involved with medical appointments with my Dad. They asked me to ensure that I pass along their best wishes and condolences to your family.

Aunt Louise had a ready laugh and smile, and I remember many happy family visits to the Sabasch home during my childhood. Her parting from the earth brings sorrow, but also many memories of a long and full life. I offer my deepest condolences to her children and grandchildren.

To Caryl. I'm a voice from the past but it doesn't mean I don't think of you often. I wanted to express my condolences on the loss of your mom. I read it in the paper this morning and I remember her well. It seemed to me she had a dry sense of humor and made me laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Louise was a dear friend of my Mom's - Irene Warwick. They had many visits at MacEwan Ridge Villas living side by side. Then Louise making the first move over to Arbour Lake Lodge, my Mom joined her. They sat together during meals and enjoyed each other's company. I had the privilege to join them on a few occasions. My Mom feels great loss for her friend, and I felt honored to have known her.
