Louise Patterson Obituary

PATTERSON, Louise Louise Olivia Sanderson Patterson, 85, wife of Samuel Wallace Patterson, III of Summerville, SC and formerly of Lynchburg, VA died Sunday, July 23, 2006 at a local hospital. Memorial services will be held Wednesday afternoon, July 26, 2006 at 12 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will be in the Peakland Baptist Church Columbarium. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Peakland Baptist Church, 4018 Peakland Place, Lynchburg, VA 24503, or to the charity of one's choice. Mrs. Patterson was born April 30, 1921 in Sallis, Mississippi; a daughter of Jack Sanderson and Leigh Belle Hester Sanderson. She was an elementary school teacher and later a career counselor at the Women's Resource Center at Randolph Macon Woman's College. She was a friend of Peakland Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Samuel W. Patterson, III of Summerville; her five children, Patricia Riley and her husband, Tom of Summerville, Michael Patterson of Denver, CO, James Patterson of Lynchburg, VA, Richard Patterson and his wife, Kelly of Madison, WI, Sarah Patterson and her husband, Rob Dobson of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Jacqueline Byrum and her husband Fritz of Glencoe, MO; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patterson was predeceased by a sister, Mary Alice Garner. Arrangements by PARKS FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483.
