Heyward and I were very sorry to miss Louis´ service. We are in Europe on our canal boat´s final voyage as we are selling our boat in Holland. Louis was a delightful person and we feel fortunate to have known him.
We look forward to being with you on Wadmalaw this summer.
All our love,
Charlotte and Heyward

Eleanor,
We were sorry to hear about Lou. His soft-spoken intelligence and kind words when we met on various occasions was as impressive as his life story we read in the paper this morning.
Kay and I will be in Richmond with family and not able to attend the funeral. We look forward to seeing you at the Symphony in coming days.
Sincerely
John and Kay Townsend
