Lou Redfearn Obituary

Lou Ann Redfearn MT. PLEASANT - Lou Ann Redfearn passed away peacefully in her home in Mt. Pleasant, SC on February 28, 2023. She leaves behind her husband of almost 30 years, Alexander (Sandy) Hines. Due to Lou Ann's declining health over the years, Sandy also became her caregiver. Lou Ann was born on June 12, 1954 in Chesterfield, SC to the late Ray R. and Evelyn R. Redfearn. She graduated from Chesterfield High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree from the College of Charleston, Charleston, SC. Lou Ann felt called to help others, especially those suffering from mental illness and behavioral health issues. She worked diligently throughout her career in behavioral healthcare in Charleston and surrounding area. In addition to her parents, Lou Ann was preceded in death by her foster son and son of her heart, Jimmie Roberts. The family is comforted by the knowledge that Lou Ann is reunited with her parents and beloved son. Lou Ann is also survived by her sisters, Marie (Lamont) Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio, Elaine (Greg) Benner of Chesterfield, SC, Lindy (George Paisley, Sr.) Watson of Chesterfield, SC, and her aunts, Mary Redfearn of Chesterfield, SC and Mary Martin of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She is also survived by her nephews, Justin McLain, Daniel McLain, Paisley Watson, Jr., Tyler Watson, Nate Smith and her niece, Emily Smith, as well as her grandnephews, grandniece and cousins. Lou Ann is also survived by her in-laws, Cathy Hines Bolt, Cameron Marks Hines and her ex-husband and special friend, Rick Sillivant. As Lou Ann's health declined, she was unable to travel and get out and about as she did in the past. She spent much of her time on social media keeping up with friends and family. Lou Ann will be deeply missed by the lives she touched. Her kindness, generosity and spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be later this spring. Sandy,
I remember Lou Ann talking about you all the time. I left PLBH in 2010, however I communicated with her on occasion through Facebook. I never realized her health issues however. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My heartfelt condolences and prayers to you, the family and friends.

My heart breaks for all of you. I had no idea that she had health problems. If I could say one thing about her it was infectious smile.
