My fondest memories of Lorraine were every time that I saw her, she would say: "Come here, Barbara, give me a hug; how is your Mom doing?" I loved Lorraine the first time that I met her.
She was my Mom's roommate at Ashley River Plantation for a few months and we had many wonderful conversations before I found out that her daughter "Cathy" (whom I had always known as "Catherine") was one of my very best friends in Columbia, Md back in the mid seventies. Lorrainne always had a smile for me and would seek me out in the dining room just to ask how I was doing; and also to ask about my Mom. I will always remember Lorraine as my mother loved her very much and cared about her deeply. Catherine and Tom and Jackie have been long lost friends but never forgotten and Tanya and Phillip will always be beautiful "children" in my heart and my cherished memory. I know that Lorraine loved them more than life. I love you all so very much; even though we have been apart for so long. Catherine, I lost my dearest Momma on January 27th of this year; I still pick up my phone to call her every day.
My warmest thoughts and prayers are with you and Jackie and the grands with endless love for a very special person in my life and in the life of my dearest Mother.
I still love you all and care about you more than you will ever know.
My deepest sympathy to all of you.
Barbara (Wiley) Robertson

One of my fondest memories of my first days as an employee of Ashley River Plantation was getting my "daily hug" from Ms. Lorraine. She was always ready to share a smile and a word of encouragement to anyone she met. May you find comfort knowing that her love is continuing on in our thoughts.
