Lorraine Moore Obituary

Lorraine Moore Lake City, SC - Mrs. Lorraine Linsenbardt Moore, 89, passed away, Thursday, April 1, 2021, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC. Lorraine was born February 2, 1932 in Lohman, Missouri to Theodore Linsenbardt and Freada Koestner Linsenbardt. She was married to Eugene T. Moore, Jr. for 55 years and was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a brother, Armand Linsenbardt, sisters, Mrs. Marvelia Mueller (Leslie) and Mrs. Shirley Renken, and a son-in-law, Richard Rainwater. Mrs. Moore is survived by two daughters, Darla D. Moore of Lake City, SC and Lisa G. Moore of Daniel Island, SC; grandsons, David Allen Golonka of Struttgart (Calw), Germany, William Joseph Golonka of Boston, Massachusetts; brothers-in-law, Donald Moore (Peggy) of Oakway, SC and Tim Renken of Peoria, Illinois, many special nieces and nephews. Lorraine graduated from Russellville High School in Russellville, Missouri, where she was a cheerleader and soloist for the Glee Club (chorus). She studied voice under Bertha Jaeger, Jefferson City, Missouri and Katherine P. Durett at St. Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. Mrs. Moore began singing in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Choir, Lohman, Missouri at an early age and continued to sing in the Lake City United Methodist Church choir and in the community for many years. She was very active in the Lake City community, working in the tobacco market, owner and hostess of the Red Carpet Welcome Service, Office administrator at the Lake City United Methodist Church for 25 years, serving on Administrative Board and Finance Committee. Lorraine was a member of the Junior Sorosis Club, Friends of the Lake City Library, Lake City United Methodist Women and Circle #5. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Lake City Community Hospital, Meals on Wheels, Moore Farm Botanical Garden and Artfields. Graveside services for Mrs. Moore will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Cook Cemetery, Memory Lane, Lake City, South Carolina, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton, South Carolina. The family extends special thanks to Lorraine's sitters, the many nurses, doctors, administrative staff of McLeod Hospital, McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC, and MUSC Health in Lake City, SC, who helped make her life the best it could be over the past several years. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Lake City United Methodist Church, PO Box 818, Lake City, SC 29560, or National Bean Market Museum, PO Box 943, Lake City, SC 29560. To the Moore family. Our deepest sympathies. It´s nice to hear how strong your mom, and grandmother to your children lived her life through her faith. I lost my sister last week. She was a nurse that always gave of herself. It´s a comfort to know they will be together.
