Lois McLaren Obituary

Lois Edna McLaren went into the arms of the Lord, February 28, 2025. She will be missed by friends and family.

She was a Certified Public Accountant with Revenue Canada Taxation for 38 years. Here she met 3 good friends Mary, Viola and Grace. The three ladies and Lois were nicknamed the Four Musketeers by Peter (Lois' husband).

Lois had a gentle caring heart which she shared with all her fur babies. She had a passion for dogs having a great love for Australian Cattle Dogs. For 40 years, Lois and Peter travelled to many spots in the USA, including the Minnesota State Fair, Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco, and Dodger's Stadium, Los Angeles. She and Peter loved camping and exploring the natural world in their converted Econoline van.

Born in 1940, she was the only child of Doris and Ted Watkinson. She is survived by her husband, Peter. They were not blessed with any children.

Her favourite song is Lara's theme from the movie Dr. Zhivago, "God Speed My Love Until You are Mine Again." Peter and Lois would go dancing and this was her favourite song to dance to.

Her passing is sorely missed by her husband and friends.

Funeral is being held at Fort William Baptist Church on Saturday, 20 September at 3:30pm. All who knew Lois and want to say good-bye are welcome to attend. A reception with food will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a Charity of Your Choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
