Lois Burney Obituary

BURNEY, Lois Mrs. Lois B. Burney, age 79, of Goose Creek, widow of the late James T. Burney, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at The Hospice of Charleston in Mount Pleasant. Friends and family of Mrs. Burney are invited to attend her memorial service today, Friday, January 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 829 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC. Mrs. Burney was born on February 17, 1928 in Charleston to Mr. John A. Brandon and Mrs. Stella Gruber Brandon. She was a housewife and wonderful mother. She was a member at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Goose Creek. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her three sons, Dennis L. Collins of Braselton, GA, James D. Burney of San Diego, CA and Carl L. Hardy of Chattanooga, TN; four daughters, Gloria E. Gasque of Savannah, GA, Oree Steisel of Waterbury, CT, Cathy Caldwell of North Charleston and Pamela Vargas of San Diego, CA; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burney was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Burney and one daughter, Lisa A. Hamm. Lois will sadly be missed. She wasn't just my best friend but more like a mother to me. I loved her. I will always cherish the memories I have of her. My thought and prayers go out to all her children and grands.
