Lois Breland Obituary

Lois Breland VARNVILLE, SC - Mrs. Lois Smith Stanley Breland, 77, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Hospice House of Savannah. She was first married to the late Norman H. Stanley and secondly to the late Byrtie Breland. Funeral services will be held 3 pm, Monday, October 1, 2012, at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 7395 Browning Gate Road in Varnville. Interment will follow in Phillipsville Cemetery. Mrs. Breland was born January 12, 1935 in Grays and was the daughter of the late David and Eva Mock. She was a retired merchant and owner of Stanley's Grocery in Varnville and was a retired nurse from Ridgeland Hospital. She was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Breland loved to cook for her family and friends and devoted her life to nurturing those she loved. Although she had no biological children, she loved many as her own and will always be remembered for the love she had for everyone. Surviving are: her children, Teddy Jo Smith of Pooler, Georgia, Peggy Roland and her husband Lee of Rincon, Georgia, Michael A. Stanley and his wife Tina of Rincon, Georgia, Maurice D. Stanley and his wife Liza of Clyo, Georgia, Morgan R. Stanley and his wife Georgette of McClellanville, South Carolina, Stacy R. Stanley of Grays, South Carolina, Kimberly Todd of Grays, South Carolina, Jim Breland and his wife Donna of Nixville and Raymond Breland of Varnville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; special friends, Mickey Ginn of Grays, South Carolina and Rena and Cody Tuten of Grays, South Carolina; and many other special friends. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Alee Shriners Morris Sloten Fund, Post Office Box 14147, Savannah, Georgia 31416.
