Lisa Boyd SUMMERVILLE - Lisa Boyd, age 70, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022. She is survived by her son, Trey Boyd, and his wife, Kelly Dawson Boyd and their two daughters; and her daughter, Grace Boyd Martin, and her three children. She is also survived by 2 siblings, Gene Bell, and Roger Bell. Lisa received a choral scholarship from the Baptist College, now known as Charleston Southern University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She worked at the Coastal Center for the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs in Summerville, where she work with children. She taught piano and music at Deere Park Baptist Church Private School in North Charleston, and taught at Knightsville Elementary School in Knightsville, where she eventually retired after many years. She and Tommy raised their children and were longtime members of Summerville Baptist Church. In their later years, they attend Northwood Church in Summerville. Lisa was well known for her beautiful voice, her strong desire to serve the Lord in anyway that she felt led. She was also known for her congenial nature, and appreciation for people. As a Christian, she desired to serve her Lord that was reflected in her compassionate approach to those around her. Many people remember hearing her beautiful voice throughout the Lowcountry at weddings, funerals, and at The Annual Town of Summerville Christmas Tree Lighting in Downtown Summerville.
