Lindsey Stikeleather Obituary

Lindsey Carl Stikeleather STATESVILLE, NC - Lindsey Carl Stikeleather, age 88, of 3222 Jurney Ave, Statesville, passed away Wednesday March 27, 2013 in Iredell County, unexpectedly. He was born May 11, 1924 in Alexander County to the late William Mack Stikeleather, Sr. and Annie Bell Brown Stikeleather. Mr. Stikeleather served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a retired grocery merchant and chicken farmer. He was also a member of Concord Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and a Deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jamie Marlowe; seven brothers, Ray Stikeleather, William Mack "Chal" Stikeleather, Jr., Vance Stikeleather, Hugh Stikeleather, Joe Stikeleather, Grier Stikeleather and Wade Stikeleather; two sisters, Mary Barnes and Myrtle Stone; He is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Ruth Alexander Stikeleather of the home; three daughters, Pam Marlowe and husband Danny of Statesville, Kathy Dellinger and husband Randy of Stony Point, Lisa Eidson and husband Keith of Charleston SC; one brother, Arthur Lee "Tab" Stikeleather and wife Jeanie of Statesville, and one sister, Nancy Alexander and husband Jim of Knoxville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Susan Rohrbacher, Elizabeth Hatley, Lindsay Skidmore, Ryan Dellinger, Matt Dellinger, Whitney Simpson, Devin Eidson, and Chloe Eidson; and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Monday April 1, 2013 at Concord Presbyterian Church. Rev. Kyle Goodman will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Iredell Veterans Council. The family will receive friends in the fellowship Hall after the funeral service. Pallbearers include: Ryan Dellinger, Matt Dellinger, Chris Hatley, Brian Skidmore, Devin Eidson and Matt Simpson; honorary pallbearers include: the Stevenson-Stikeleather Sunday School Class. Memorials may be given to Concord Presbyterian Church, 3867 Taylorsville Hwy., Statesville, N.C. 28625. Mrs. Ruth, Kathy, Matt, Cheryl, Samuel Hunter and Ryan....we are very sorry for your loss.
