Not a day goes by that I don't appreciate the days I had with Mrs. Oshinsky. I pray the wonderful lessons she bestowed upon me will stay with me for the rest of my life. Mrs. Oshinsky was such an amazing woman. I didn't get to spend as much time with her like a lot of other people did. But in such a short time, she turned my attitude around about not only English but a few things I was so unsure about. It's now my fave subject but it's not as great as when I had her teaching it to me. She taught me a lot about life in general. I use her stories and her "life lesson" talks to get me through some times when I don't really have an answer to something. She said she wanted to teach that English was an art. And she did just that. She was an amazing person and will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to everyone grieving of this tragic loss. <3

I am so sad to hear of your family's loss. Mrs. Oshinsky was the most inspirational role model I ever met. She definitely made the world around her better from having been in it.

She instilled in me a desire to learn and interpret all that I can about the world, to become as educated as possible, and to be a positive influence to the community. I would not be where I am today if it was not for Mrs. Oshinsky. She will be deeply missed.

Dear Friends and Family,
I know this is a hard time for y'all and that y'all will be grieving for a long time to come! I just want y'all to know that there are many people who thought the world of Mrs. O and I am definitely one of them! She was my senior English teacher in 2004 and that was the only English class that I even enjoyed. She was a great woman and was great to her students, willing to help in any way that she could! She will forever be in our hearts and we will all be praying for y'all!

Mr. Oshinsky, I will be praying for you daily as you grieve the loss of your wife. Please know that she was one of the most insperational people in my life as she was my junior and senior english teacher in 2000-2001. I never would have imagined that I would have left high school with such a dramatic love for english.I am who I am today because she loved me and chose to take time to impart upon each and every one off her students a piece of herself. I only hope that I can be a resemblence of who she was and make her proud. I will always remember that she taught us that "the road to success is always under construction" and to never give up. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful women with us(her students).

Mrs. Oshinsky was one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met. She made the classroom a fun and enjoyable learning environment. She had a wonderful personality and great sense of humor! The education world has lost a great asset! She will be truly missed and forever remembered by all! May God's blessings be with her family in this very difficult period of mourning.

I recently moved to Goose Creek to finish the second half of my senior year at Stratford High School (class of 2007). Luckily, I had the honor of having Mrs. Oshinsky for both English IV and Advisement. She didn't just teach our class about literature, she taught each and every single one of us valuable lessons about life and the challanges that we'll eventually encounter. Mrs. O taught us how to overcome all of the challanges imposed upon us. I thank God for having the opportunity to meet such a wonderful lady in my life who was willing to listen to me and guide me through tough situations. I miss the energy and laughter that she brought into our classroom EVERY day and the smile that she always had on her face. I owe everything to this woman who was always there for me no matter what. I'm going to college because of Mrs. O sitting down with me to help me fill out my college applications and scholarship forms. All that is left for me to say is thank you Mrs. Oshinsky for all that you have done for me! She is greatly missed and thought of daily by all of her students. I would also like to thank her family for supporting her teaching career. She did an AWESOME job and she was my favorite teacher and a memorable one too!

Mrs. Oshinsky was one of the wisest people I knew. She was without a doubt my favorite teacher. My senior year would not have been the same without her. I can remember the times I would stay after class just to hear her stories and life lessons she had learned. She has inspired me in so many ways. I can remember the last time I saw her and the sameface she always gives you when shes proud of you. She will be greatly missed.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Mrs. Oshinsky. She was and always will be one of the greatest inspirations of my life. She was my Senior English teacher in 2002/2003 and taught me to not only appreciate, but to love literature. We both shared a love for aviation and she continually encouraged me to follow my dream of becoming a professional aviator. I owe much of my sucess in college, aviation, and in my future to her. For that I am forever in debt to her.
I will never forget her laugh and her other unique characteristics--but most of all I will never forget the many things I learned from her--including HOW to learn.

As a former student of Mrs. Oshinsky's (2003-2004), words cannot express how deeply i am grieving her loss. I am blessed to have basked in her wisdom for two semesters. She was truly an inspiration to me, and everything I am in all my college courses I owe to her. What a wonderful woman who shared her own life experiences to prepare her students for life, which is the best gift a teacher could ever give. My condolences go out to the family; may God bless you all.

She is one of the special people who light up a room when she walks in. I pray it is comforting to know that you will be together again. One day I hope to be blessed with a love compariable to the love you & Linda shared. Sincerely, your friend, Barbara

Michael: According to the allegories of Genesis, we are made in God's image-likeness. God is eternal, changeless and unchanging, and since God could never cease to be, neither could Linda. She simply went through the portal to eternal life, disconnecting from this mortal spacesuit called her body, and now we bless her as she journies on to other roles, experiences and realms beyond anything we could ever imagine doing and being with the weight of this mortal body holding us back. Love her, communicate with her in your thoughts - verbally and consciously; she will hear you and understand you. In time, she will be present in your dreams. Take that as your reality. As she loved you in life, she can love you more in her new realm, because she has become the pure essence of Love. She has become a part of all there is, unencumbered and confined by speace or time.

Here at the City of Charleston, we are all walking with you as you make your journey through this veiled state of consciousness. Tomorrow, the sun will rise in all its glory, and you will be able to see more clearly that which seems to elude you. Be patient with yourself; time is a healer. The period of adjustment will somehow force you to draw on that spiritual center that we all have, in spite of yourself. Maybe there is a new calling in this.

Mrs. O was my senior English teacher at Goose Creek High School during the 83-84 school year. She was the greatest. I don't think I have ever been more influenced by any teacher than her. I was so upset to hear of her passing. She most certainly made this world a better place w/ her influences and wisdom. I went to see her a few years back at Stratford when I heard she was teaching there. We sat and talked for awhile catching up w/ one another. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Dear Mr. Oshinsky,
I was never able to tell Mrs. O how much she influenced my life. I am a former Stratford student, and Mrs. O left so much more in my memory than literature. I cannot express to you how much she influenced the lives of the people around her. You and Mrs. O will remain in my thoughts, and I leave you with best of wishes and sympathy in your time of loss.

Michael,

Your wife was my senior English teacher back in 2000 when she was up for Teacher of the Year. I remember that year as if it was yesterday...not for being my final year in high school, but more so for having a very close relationship with "Mrs O." She was more than just a teacher to me...she was an inspiration to my lifelong dream. During college I would always come back to visit SHS and always made a point to spend a few minutes with my favorite English teacher. She was always very proud of my accomplishments that I would grace upon her and encourage me to never be satisified until my dreams were complete. Today I am stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK and I am just 6 weeks away from earning my Wings as an USAF pilot. This being my lifelong dream...I regret that I will never be able to share this achievement with her. However, I know that she will always be looking down on us, and I will always have the opportunity to be a little closer to her while soaring with the angels looking down upon this Earth.

With Deepest Regards,

Brandon A. McSwain
