Dear Bob,
I was shocked and so sad to learn of Linda's passing. I so much appreciated her offers of rides to Democrats' meetings, and really enjoyed the trips. Those were fun times. I had not known her for very long, which is such a pity - she was such a delightful person. My sincere condolences to you, Bob, and all your family. I know you will miss her terribly.

Have been thinking of you all day and wishing that I could have shared in the celebration of Linda's life even though the loss is just terrible. I wanted to correct the date our friendhip began, fall of 1957, not 1961 when we graduated. Love and blessings to each of you. Zaida

Bob: So shocked and saddened by Linda's death. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I feel so honored to have recently spent some time with Linda in the "wee hours" of the morning on Hwy. 17. Our little group successfully defended President Obama's right to be heard by the children in the Mt. Pleasant schools. Linda will be lovingly remembered, and sorely missed. Anne Cline

Bob and family, I cannot express how deeply saddened I am by Linda's passing. You have both been amazing friends to me. Linda was one of the nicest, kindest and most accepting friends I've had. I always saw you two as a team and came to appreciate you as an extraordinary couple. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of yours and Linda's life!

"Bob, Dobsons and Kroghs, We are saddened by Linda's passing. Having been another Woodstock student, I can recall Linda's enthusiasm of life, her involvement in many school activities, and her contribution to the Woodstock community. These interests were obviously further pursued in her work in the field of international adoption. She will always will be remembered with her winning smile and attractiveness both in a physical sense and her positive attitude. She will be missed." Dick Brown, Blounts Creek, NC

Dear Bob, Kroghs and all of the Dobson clan. I also have known Linda, Mac, Ellen and Janice since grade school at Woodstock. What wonderful memories of your family. Also the visits over the years stateside. What a terrible shock! I am still having a hard time believing it. Linda was ALWAYS such a beautiful girl then lady, loved and proud to be her friend. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Your friends, Margo and Mom Almeda Elliott.

Robert,
I was sorry to have just received word of Linda's passing. My hope is that the following will provide you comfort: Romans 8:38
“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

Dear Bob, Dobsons and Kroghs, I just cannot believe the sad news. We were friends beginning in 1961 as entering freshman at Maryville College, lived in the same dorm, ate at HER table which she waitressed all 4 years and were roommates our jr & sr years. We visited in each other's homes over the years and met up at reunions. Our 50th reunion in 2 years will not be the same without her. Linda truly lived her convictions in such a gentle way. My love and sympathy to all of you, Zaida Brown Gilmour, Annapolis, Maryland

My Sister was such a beautiful person, always seeing the best in all. She was the best counselor, always ready to help and guide me when I needed her. I can't imagine life without her. Only my Heavenly Father will be able to fill the emptiness from Linda's passing..I will see her again in Heaven and will then Dance for JOY!

One of the most joyous people I ever knew. Whenever I saw Linda, I just felt
better. We worked on so many campaigns
together. But win or lose, I was
always touched by her kindness and
her optimism toward the next day.
Linda did so many small things that
people took for granted but were in
fact a window to her generosity.
She was a great Democrat and a greater
friend.
My good thoughts go to you, Bob
and all your family. Thanks for
letting me know Linda.
My best,
Franklin Ashley

Dear Bob and Mary Dobson and family, my wife, Ginny, and I were shocked to hear of Linda's passing. Although we have not kept up with you recently, we are grateful for all your wonderful gifts. We express our love and support for you all, especially to Bob and Mary Dobson. Mary's and Linda's connection with India (where my mother's family, the M. M. Brown's lived for forty years in the work of mission) has meant much. God is good and although none of us can fully know the reason for Linda's death, we trust God will continue her good work.

Seems like only yesterday that "Lindy" & I were roomies at MC. It was fortunate for Linda that she was able to live a full, rich tapestry of a life, and unfortunate for us that she had to leave so suddenly & prematurely. I miss her already & can only imagine the gap her passing leaves in the lives of her extensive & caring family & friends. My heart goes out to all of you.

Dear Bob and Family,
I am at a loss for words as to how to express my profound sadness at Linda's passing. She was a very special person in my life, and she will always be with all of us who loved her so much. She was a real sparkplug, a beautiful girl who grew into an extraordinary woman. Bob, you are so fortunate to have shared your life with her, and she was so fortunate to have shared her life with you as well, as you are a good, good man.
The Lord God tells us that one of these days, all tears shall be wiped away. I believe that. Know that my heart and prayers are with you and your family at this extremely difficult time. Sharon shares my sadness and knows of the pain you are going through.
Linda will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, even if only casually. Her light will shine on for a long time to come.
