Linda Guilford Obituary

Linda Dale Simmons Guilford WALTERBORO - Mrs. Linda Dale Simmons Guilford died Thursday morning at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. She was 69 Mrs. Guilford was born April 14, 1941, in Summerville, a daughter of the late Walter Issac Simmons and Lydia Knight Simmons. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro, was a former cosmetologist, and was a former secretary for the Clyde O. Ackerman Law Office. Mrs. Guilford was a truly devoted mother. She always found the good in every situation, and she focused on the positive things life had to offer. She will truly be missed. She is survived by a son, Walter Winston Guilford, of Hilton Head, and by a daughter, Jennifer Guilford Dean, and her husband Harold W. "Hal" Dean, Jr. of Walterboro. She also leaves behind her former husband Winston E. Guilford and his wife Beth of Yemassee, and three grandchildren, Bryan Walter Guilford, Megan Leigh Guilford and Sloman Dale Dean. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Uva S. Padgett, Betty S. Hughes and Janice S. Williams. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, in the Chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Colleton County SPCA. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m., and online condolences may be left for the family at www.parkerrhodenfuneralhome.com. So very sorry to hear about your sweet mother. I'm so glad I got to know her - a truly wonderful lady. It's such a hard thing to lose a parent, no matter how old we may be. Please know that Mom and I are thinking about you and you are in our prayers.
