Linda Fowler Obituary

Linda Fowler MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Mrs. Linda Ann Maloch Fowler, age 82, formerly of Charleston, SC, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1601 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in Charleston, SC at 2:00 p.m. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the sanctuary of the church. A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 3154 SC Hwy 102 in Chesterfield, SC at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Fowler was born April 3, 1941 in Society Hill, SC, a daughter of the late John Baldwin Maloch, Sr. and Elizabeth Hill Maloch. She graduated from Chesterfield High School in 1959. She received her licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in 1962 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the Medical University of South Carolina. She later obtained her licensure as a nurse practitioner (NP) from the University of Mississippi. Mrs. Fowler dedicated 30 years of service to the State of SC as a Nurse Practitioner before retiring. She was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church in Charleston, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was involved in the Stephen's Ministry as a Stephen Minister. She actively participated in the Grace UMC Ladies Circle and held various other roles throughout the years. Additionally, she enjoyed being an avid South Carolina Gamecocks fan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by an infant sister, Susan Elizabeth Maloch. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Thomas "Tommy" Fowler of Myrtle Beach; daughters, Sharon "Shari" Fowler of Florence, SC, and Leigh Fowler (Jay) Philon of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Kali Baldwin Daniels and Jake Kelly Philon; brother, John (Mary) Maloch, Jr. of Cheraw, SC; and sister, Mary M. Bell of Easley, SC. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to her caregiver, Ms. Ann Graham of Conway and the dedicated staff of Crescent Hospice for their exceptional support and care during this difficult time. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Linda was always thoughtful in her encounters with patients. Her level head and though assessment of each patient´s situation always lead to the best outcome. She was an excellent nurse practitioner. She was an example for us all.

So sorry to hear of Linda`s death. I was her hairstylist for many years and our younger days. What a wonderful person.
