Mrs. Simmons is the widow of Mr. Walter Simmons, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel, Sr., and Estelle Richardson Nesbitt, the mother of Mrs. Genev Nelson (Joe), Mr. Arthur Simmons (Kassie), and the late Mr. Walter Simmons, Jr., and Ms. Evelena Simmons, the sister of Mr. Soloman Nesbitt, Ms. Beatrice Nesbitt, Mr. Leroy Nesbitt (Frances), and the late Mr. Samuel Nesbitt, Jr., Mr. George Nesbitt, Ms. Hattie Brown and Ms. Sara Capers, the sister-in-law of Ms. Eartha Lee Nesbitt.
