I am so glad that I grew up knowing Aunt Lillie and what an amazing "belle" she was! I will continue to tell her stories of Charleston life during WWII, Woodrow & her special jar for "funds", and of course, those many summers we all spent crabbin'! What a lady--even to the end!

Aunt Lillie was a true southern lady. I remember visiting her on the island, where she always had candy in a bowl for us children. I feel blessed to have known her.

Aunt Lillie who made the best macaroni pie! I remember the time I took Aunt Lilliie and my mom, Evelyn Grooms to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Va. We had a great time, but I wore her out. When leaving the park, we saw a sign, "Return tomorrow for half-price", the look on Aunt Lillie's face was unforgettable. I will always remember the laughs we shared. Love you forever Aunt Lillie! A happy soul, she leaves fond memories of macaroni salad, sleeping on her porch as a child, daily walks with special talks to the mailbox, Sunday School, family and "medicinal" screwdrivers.
