Lillie Mae Fields "Lil" NEPTUNE, NJ - "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now, there is in store for me, the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ms. Lillie Mae Fields, our mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great- grandmother, and aunt. Lillie Mae Fields, 82, was a Charleston native residing in Brooklyn, New York. She was a retired US Postal Administrator and an Alumni of Burke High School, graduating with the Class of 1958. She transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, March 19, 2023 in Neptune, NJ at the home of her caretaker and only son, Darin Fields. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Eddie and Gertrude Fields and siblings, Wilhelmina Beasley, David Taylor, Arthur Fields, Dorothy Murray, James Fields, Sr., Isaac Fields, and Rebecca Price. The relatives and friends of Ms. Lillie "Lil" Mae Fields, those of her son, Darin L. Fields (Wanda), siblings, Barbara A. Calvary, Edwina Wright (Sylvester), John Wright (Pamela), Arlene (Vardric) Crosby; special sister, Beatrice "VeVe" Parks (Billy), sister-in-law, Marie Fields; grandchildren, Ashley Neal (Lionel) and Hershel Fields; great-grandchildren, Darius and Asia Neal; special niece, Renee Annette Price; other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Morris Street Baptist Church, 25 Morris St. Charleston, SC. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at 1615 Mulberry St. (West Ashley). Condolences may be sent to the family at www.dorothyshff.com.
