1915 – 2014

Lewis E. "Ted" Foster Jr., a resident of Friendly Valley, CA since 1986, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014. He was a man of integrity and kindness, with a sharp intellect that never waned in his 98 years.

Ted was born November 28, 1915 in Carlsbad, NM. He moved to Southern California in 1951 for an engineering job with Lockheed Aircraft, where he worked until his retirement in 1979. A master golfer, Ted loved playing on the Friendly Valley course, hitting more than his share of holes-in-one and winning some tournaments. A devoted member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Valencia and a lifelong baritone singer, he participated in the church's choir for many years.

He is survived by daughters Adele Krohmer and Becky Still, son Bill Foster, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Esther and son Edward.

A memorial service and light lunch will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at St. Stephen's Episcopal, 24901 Orchard Village Rd, Valencia, CA 91355. Donations in his name may be made to Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry (www.scvfoodpantry.org/).
