Lewis Brown Obituary

BROWN, Lewis CROSS, SC - Mr. Lewis Kiser Brown, 83, of George Wigfall Road, Cross, SC, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, SC. Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Jerusalem UM Church, Cross, SC. Rev. Wendell W. Sumter will officiate. Burial in the church cemetery. Wake service will be Friday night, 6 to 8 p.m. at Antioch Holiness Church in Cross, SC. EUTAWVILLE COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. Lewis Brown, affectionately known by the name "Kiser," was employed by Westvaco of Charleston where he worked until his retirement in 1981. He was a devoted member of Jerusalem UM Church where he served as Deacon, Class Leader, Graveyard committee member and Trustee Board member. Survivors include a devote wife, Mrs. Dorothy Bennett Brown, his ten children, Luther Green (Ercelia), of Summerville, SC, Margaree Pena, of Bronx, NY, Luretha Sumter-Thompson (Jerome), of Goose Creek, SC, Idean Garrett of Denmark, SC, Joe Lewis Brown of Ladson, SC, Bernard Brown (Naomi), of Cross, SC, Doris Harden (David), of Dallas, TX, Curtis Brown (Vermell), of Red Oak, TX, Cornelius Brown of Cross, SC, Saundra Wigfall (Nathaniel), of Moncks Corner, SC; two sisters, Albertha Martin of Charleston, SC, and Anne Montero (Bernard) of New Jersey; one brother, Willie (Rebecca) Brown of Cross, SC; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 18 brothers and sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, God children, devoted cousins, and friends.
