Lesene Claudette Bursey Barnett Charleston - Lesene Claudette Bursey Barnett, 86, of Charleston, SC, passed away on April 16, 2022. Those who loved her can fellowship together at 3:00 on Thursday, April 21 at Stuhr's Charleston Chapel, at 232 Calhoun Street. A memorial service will follow at 4:00, also at Stuhr's. Pastor Craig Snook, formerly of Seacoast Christian Community, will be officiating. Les was born in Boston, MA to Lester and Christine Bursey on August 14, 1935. She graduated from Bassick High School in Bridgeport, CT and cared for children for most of her working years. She was an Air Force veteran. Les was preceded in death by her son, Gary Warren Barnett (Connie Hainline) on November 4, 2006. Les is survived by her son, Jerry Arthur Barnett, Jr. (Kimberly Zachary) and by her brother, Kenneth Kornatowski; by her grandchildren, John Milan Coffey and Jeremy Adam Coffey; Sean Alexander Barnett, Jacob Andrew Barnett, Logan Hunter Barnett and Sierra Rayne Barnett; and by great-granddaughter, Ce'Cile Marie Coffey. Memorials may be given to Canterbury House at 175 Market Street in Charleston, SC. The family wishes to extend our most sincere thanks to Doctors Parsons, Schumacher, Kerchoff, Madden, and Hawke and to the nursing staff on the 4th floor (Melissa), in cardiac ICU (Kat and Kristen), and on 5-South (especially Nadine from Joliet) at Roper Hospital.
