Memories and Condolences
for Leroy Nolan

Not sure what to say?

I try again to express my condolences to the Noland family, known and unknown. Seeing Leroy after appx 30 yrs when he eulogized my uncle Adam Ferguson, we reminisced our days as baseball and basketball players for Accabee and Mary Ford Elem, respectively. Speaking for all of us who raised with him on the Height,including the Eulogist, desirables and undesirables, we loved him as he did us. To Booker T, Shirley and rest of the family , I reiterate, "Hold on to God's unchanging hands". He knows best.

January 23, 2010

Family, we are sending our deepest sympathy and prayers. May God continue to watch over all of us, in days ahead, May God continue to comfort us and give us strength from day to day,May He bless us and keep us within his loving care. Family may it help you to know that He is always there and so are we. Bishop will be deeply missed by us all.We will hold and keep to heart his love for us as a family and most of all, his love for God and people, and his teachings of God's word. He had a heart for God.With God giving us the strenght to go on, we can also look to those memories of Bishop to endure from day to day for our strength.

A Reminiscence

YES, thou art gone! and never more
Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;
But I may pass the old church door,
And pace the floor that covers thee.

May stand upon the cold, damp stone,
And think that, frozen, lies below
The lightest heart that I have known,
The kindest I shall ever know.

Yet, though I cannot see thee more,
'Tis still a comfort to have seen;
And though thy transient life is o'er,
'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;

To think a soul so near divine,
Within a form so angel fair,
United to a heart like thine,
Has gladdened once our humble sphere.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
