The enormous impact Mr. Leroy "Little" Lewis left on this planet will ripple across generations. A man of high integrity, character, and culture. I owe much of my ability to adapt, assist, and emphasize with others from the precious experiences Mr. Lewis shared with me. I consider myself blessed and fortunate to know him, and am happy to have the pleasure to call him "Little " in our moments shared. I will always love him for the person he was and the commitment he showed to his community. It is sincerely a pleasure and honor to share memories of the beauty he carved out of some ugly environments others would have not had the courage to undertake. GOD certainly had his hand on the shoulders of this extraordinary man!!

My sincerest condolences to your family. Mr. Lewis was not only my high school teacher he was my mentor, friend and so much more to me and others. Mr. Lewis had the best sense of humor and was the best mentor any student could ever asked for. I pray he's resting in peace.

Mr. Lewis, was pivotal in the development of a lot of successful adults through his love, support, and mentorship he provided to many College of Charleston Upward Bound alumni. We were students seeking to better ourselves and he showed us the better of what life had to offer us. He taught us manners, to enjoy life, and most of all to believe in ourselves. Beyond Upward Bound, he always acknowledged me and asked me how I was doing when I saw him. He will be missed. Thank you Mr. Lewis for your dedication to teaching and working with us.

To: The Family of Leroy Lewis,Jr.
I know your family chain has been broken and nothing will ever seem the same again. Leroy was a bright light into darkness for so many; his light continues to shine for all of us who knew him. I will never think of him as gone because he will forever live in my heart.
