Leroy Klotz Obituary

Leroy Joseph Klotz, of Taylor, died Friday morning at home after a brief illness. His first wife, the former Carmella Sandy, died in 1971. He is survived by his second wife, the former Alice Ann Gavich. They celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary in November.

Born Nov. 28, 1928, in Scranton, son of the late Charles and Anna Schraeder Klotz, he was a conductor for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad and New Jersey Transit for more than 35 years. He was a member of St. Ann's Basilica.

Leroy loved life and his devoted wife, who took exceptional care of him, especially the past few months. He also loved his home and fishing. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who called upon him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Also surviving are a daughter, Judith Picone; two granddaughters; a brother, Carl; nieces and nephews.

As per his request, a private Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday in St. Ann's Basilica, by the Rev. Francis Landry, C.P. Pallbearers were Matthew Mischello, Joseph Telesz, George Lewert, Paul Moran, Michael Potosky and Harry Krenitsky. Arrangements by the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor.
