Leonard Miles Obituary

Leonard Perry Miles, Sr. CHARLESTON - Leonard Perry Miles Sr. of Charleston, South Carolina husband of the late Lucy Warren Miles of Charleston, SC, died Friday November 16, 2012. A funeral service will be held Sunday November 18, 2012, in Grace United Methodist Church (1601 Sam Rittenberg Blvd.) at 3:00 pm. Entombment to follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL (3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway) Saturday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Leonard was born January 5, 1929 in Barnwell, SC, son of the late Coy Franklin Miles and Bertha Still Miles Gunnells. He was the Founder of Wappoo Oil Company and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was also a Mason, member of the Chamber of Commerce and Civitans. He is survived by two daughters Cindy Hunt (William); Darlene Owens (Harold); two sons, Leonard Perry Miles, Jr. and David Miles (Lucia) all of Charleston, SC; a sister Gladys Ray of Barnwell, SC; a brother Douglas Miles of Summerville, SC; six grandchildren Crystal White (Shane), Candy Acanfora (Jon), Tabatha Bollenberg (Matt), Miles Owens (Shelly), Griffin Miles and Luke Miles; seven great-grandchildren Madeline White, Bennett White, Lucy Sawadske, Cohen Acanfora, Caitlynn Owens, Marina Bollenberg and Jackson Owens. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to loving caregivers Mona Lisa, Dorothy, Doris, Felicia and the wonderful staff of Odyssey Hospice.
