Leonard Melfi Obituary

Leonard Melfi SUMMERVILLE - Leonard Francis Melfi, 82, of Summerville, SC, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday morning, February 8, 2013 at Summerville Cemetery at 10 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Village at Summerville, Presbyterian Communities of SC, 201 W. 9th North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Mr. Melfi was born on February 2, 1931 in Summerville, SC, a son of Joseph F. Melfi, Sr. and Jeanette Moore Melfi. He was retired from the Presbyterian Home of Summerville. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. Leonard was a longtime member and volunteer with the Summerville Fire Department since March of 1958. Survivors include his brother, Buddy Melfi of Summerville; many nieces and nephews; three god children, Whitney Brown, Hannah Brown, Robbie Brown. My heart and sympathy goes out to the Melfi family. I will miss Leonard's and my conversations we had almost daily. His pain and suffering is over and he is in a better place.
