Leon VanCompernolle Obituary

Born October 10, 1915 in Huntley, MT, passed away on February 27, 2006 in Dallas, TX. He attended school in Kansas City, MO and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University. He proudly served as a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy during WWII. He was associated with Kroger Foods for 25 before joining Fleming Foods in Topeka, KS where he was Division Manager of the Topeka Division for many years. He served as an usher and on committees at Most Pure Heart Catholic Church in Topeka, KS and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. A loving and devoted family man he was warm and personable with a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of sixty years Gladys; his sister Sylvia of Kansas City; his daughter Linda Noller and husband Tom of Batavia, IL; three sons and their wives, David and Lana, Brian and Kelly and Paul and Mary; grandchildren Larry, Jim, Joanne, Ryan Lee, Zach, Jason, Lauren and Jake; great grandchild Thomas. Preceded in death by his parents, Remi and Bertha; his brother Henry and sister Emma. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2006, All Saints Catholic Church, 5331 Meadowcreek, Dallas 75248. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints Catholic Church or the American Red Cross.

My deapest sympathy to the the family. I worked for Fleming in Topeka when Leon was there. A wonderfull gentelman and leader.
