Leon Gethers, Sr. MT. PLEASANT - Mr. Leon Gethers, Sr., 70, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 3, 2021. The funeral ceremony celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 12 Noon in Old Nazareth Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC. A walk-through viewing will be held this evening at the mortuary from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Helen S. Gethers; children, Naomi Brown and Leon Gathers, Jr.; step-children, Karen Smalls-Horlback (Harold), and Jason Crawford; grandchildren: Michael Haynes, Maria Haynes, Sacharis Gathers, Mason Gathers, Pierre Smalls, Myles Horlback, Madison Horlback, and Tajah Crawford; siblings: John Gathers, Virginia McFadden, Ralph Wilson (Martha), J.C. Allen Gathers (Elizabeth), Edward Gathers (Sheila), and Marion Reed; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Gathers, Cynthia Gathers, and Sue Middleton; brother-in-law, Lee Smalls, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
