Know that Father can truly keep you in peace during this time that seems so hard. We can reflect on the memory of Rev. Bolton and daddy (Rev. Peterson) singing and shouting over St. James Bethel.
It is in this we fulfill the scripture of whatsoever things are right, honest and of a good report WE will to think on these things.

To the Bolton Family,
You may not remember me, but my name is Denton Carter, and I am the grandson of the late Rev. Viola Chisolm. Rev. Bolton shared the pulpit with my grandmother, Rev. Baldwin and Rev. Peterson. In fact, I sang on the choir. I have not lived in Charleston for over 30 years, but I am sadden to hear of the passing of Rev. Bolton, and my prayers go out to all of his family, particularly the children, as I knew them all when I lived in Charleston. I am really sorry for your loss of a really good man. I know how close you were to your father and what an influence he had on a number of people's lives. We will miss him. I can't imagine the pain you are feeling and if there was a way to take it away, I would.
God is smiling upon Rev. Bolton and his family.

I am so sorry for your lost. Lord knows we know what that is like. We, the Johnson and Simmons families, have had much lost of love ones, the last few years.
Rev. Bolton will be greatly missed. I will never forget him; he use to visit my grandmother, Victoria Simmons, almost every Sunday night. She thought the world of him. Whenever any of my family members died without a preacher and needed one, we asked him; he would always say yes. He is in God's hands now, just were he wanted to be in the end. "To God be the Glory" . He was blessed with long life, but no matter how old a person is, you just know them that much more. Mama was 96 yrs old, when God called her, and it feels like I just lost her sometimes.
I am praying for each and everyone of you. May God keep you all in his prefect will and take you through this trying time.

To the Bolton children, Pop's legacy. Pop Bolton will always be remembered as the kind, gentle and humble soul that he was. He always had a kind and encouraging word for everyone and everyone was his sons and daughters 'his children" as he would say. I'll remember his laughter and kind words as we sat at the Mother conference back in Sept. 2011 with his nephews. He was so happy for his 90th birthday celebration that his children was having for him. Rev. Bolton or Pop has received his ultimate and greatest reward and recognition from the Heavenly Father. We all loved Pop but God loved him best. Pop was tired and God gave his rest. Take your Pop Bolton in your Heavenly Home. To the children, his sister, Mrs. Harrison, other family members and friends, remember the great man that Pop was. Go on with life as he would have wanted. You will always be remember POP. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
