Leo Barone Obituary

Leo Alfonso Barone, Jr. Charleston - Leo Alfonso Barone, Jr. passed away comfortably in his sleep on October 1, 2022 at his home in Charleston, SC. A funeral service will be conducted at the graveside Friday, October 7, 2022 in Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington St., Charleston, at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. Leo was born in Somers Point, NJ and raised in Northfield before attending American University and graduating from Temple. Leo began his career in the marketing department at John Wanamaker in Philadelphia, and later transferred his skills to real estate, commensurate with a move to New York, NY. Upon retirement, Leo moved to Charleston to enjoy the milder weather and slower pace. Leo's key companions were his late partner, Richard, and his beloved dog, Dixie. He loved to travel the world, and especially enjoyed the Caribbean-which he had been doing since childhood, including trips with his brothers, Charles and Phillip. Leo was also keen on music, art, fashion, and interior design, and was always up on the latest and eager to share his finds with everyone. His favorite cuisine was Italian, which he could eat every night of the week. Leo was predeceased by his parents, Leo Alfonso Barone, Sr. and Anna Maria Barone (nee Meshon) and is survived by his brothers, Charles (Candi) and Phillip (Jose), his niece, Siena Barone and nephew, Vito Barone, and his cousin-in-law, Rustin Jones. Rest in peace, Leo, as you join mom and dad, who you missed so very much. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com. He will be missed by many. He had such a big heart. He would sleep over at my home during the summer when my children were young. We would spend the whole day at the beach. When we came back from the beach we would always make Italian food for dinner. When our cousin Claudio got married I stayed at Leo and Richard's home in NY. I have such good memories of us growing up together.

He will be missed. He was so kind and had a good heart. He slept over my house during the summer when my children were young. We would go to the beach together. We would spend the whole day at the beach. We would come home after the beach and have dinner together. We would always have Italian food. When our cousin Claudio got married I stayed at his and Richard's home. I will really miss him. Cousin Annamaria
