Stephen, Pam, Francis & Billie, I extend my deepest sympathy to you for the passing away of Lenora. I have many fond memories of years gone by of her. I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. I am so sorry that I will not be at her visitation and service today. Love you all, Hallene

Aunt Lenora, as she was known to me, was a beautiful, loving, and giving woman. When I was a young child, Aunt Lenora poured her heart into my mother, welcoming her to the city of Charleston, and sharing with her in the faith. On many occasions, Aunt Lenora provided a warm space, full of life, for my brother and me to grow. I have a distinct memory of running through her fragrant, lush garden with my brother. She had invited us for a teddy bear tea party, as she often did, and we were enjoying a peaceful time among the pink and white azaleas dressed in our Sunday best. She and Uncle Cecil had landscaped her magnificent garden in a way that created a tunnel so that we could run under the flowering spring blossoms. There were not many places I felt comfortable and safe as a child, but being with Aunt Lenora in her garden was one of the few. She was a welcoming and warm soul, and she was kind to me. She reflected the light of Christ onto me before I even knew it existed. She was a creative, warm, thoughtful, and generous woman, and my life has been shaped by her kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends as they continue their journey without her. She will be sorely missed.

When we moved to Charleston, our first neighbors were the Kirklands. We have remained friends through the years and I send love and sympathy to all the family.

I knew Lenora for several years through two other friends. Even though I have not seen her in years, I do have fond memories of time spent together. I remember her kindness and her witty sense of humor. I send my condolences to her family, knowing that their memories will keep her always in their hearts.
