Mary Harriet, We were so sorry to hear of Preacher Carter's (Brother)passing away. We sure have missed your family since you left us. David Salter sent me an email and let us know. Mary Harriet & Family - I was so sorry to hear of Lem's passing. You all were a big part of my life when you were in Pacolet and I will never forget it. Know that you all are in prayers now and always.

Alice & Family- after I attended your dads funeral, I felt the need to come back and write something else. The service for him was awesome- you could tell that so many folks thought the world of him and it just showed and was known in all the many stories they share about him and his life. I know you and your family will miss him so much here on this earth, but you will rejoice with him again some day. Mary Harriet, Brother and I were classmates during our high school days at Manning HS and during our fours years at Wofford. I last saw him at our 50-year class reunion in Manning in 2006 when he told me about his bout with cancer. I will miss him.

I grew up in Bishopville and knew Brother in Manning. We were classmates at Wofford. Brother was a splendid minister and servant of the Almighty, and a credit to us all. We grieve with you.

Mary Harriett, My thoughts and prayers have been and continue to be with you and your family on Lem's passing. He was a wonderful minister to me and my family while he was at Mauldin. May God comfort you during this time and going forward.

Lem (Brother) and I were classmates at Wofford from 1956 to 1960. I have fond memories of him while at Wofford. I am certainly sorry to hear about his passing.

Mary Harriet, words cannot express how much you and Lem meant to me and my family during your time at Fair Lawn UMC. You, with your wonderful direction of our children's choir and Lem with his shoot-from-the-hip, straight-talkin' sermons. He was truly a kind, dedicated, and wonderful man who touched countless lives in a positive way. I join you in your sorrow for his loss. Fondly, Loretta Jeffers Price.

"Brother" was such an example for all of us. I shall never forget Pat and me visiting with both of you in the isolation ward in Marion when Lem's illness first began. Even then "Brother" was a witness to the power and mercy of God. My prayers have been with all of you especially during these last few weeks and I will continue to lift you up as you begin to live with your loss. Remember, "Brother" has seen the face of Jesus and knows no more pain. May this knowledge bring you comfort and give you strength. In His and my love, Hallett

Mary Harriet, Sarah and I were saddened to hear today of Lem's passing, and are holding you and the "girls" and their families in prayer.

Lem was always kind, supportive, and interested in me. He had such a collegial spirit. Days before Christmas I am reminded of an Irish legend: "Whoever's born at Christmas time is favored from the start; whoever dies at Christmas time goes straight to paradise." Well done, Lem. You were one of a kind!
