Leila McPherson Moncks Corner - Leila Small McPherson, 90, of Moncks Corner, wife of the late Nelson T. McPherson, Sr., passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021. Leila was born in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, a daughter of William James Small, Sr. and Jennie Chandler Small. Mrs. Leila was a retiree from Berkeley High School and an active member of First Baptist Church, where she taught both Sunday School and Nursery classes. She loved cooking and reading her bible. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Surviving are her 3 children- Tommy McPherson and his wife, Terry of Pinopolis, Beth Cumbie and her husband, Deryel of Pinopolis, Kay McPherson of Moncks Corner; 7 grandchildren- Jamie, Jennie, Matthew, Jacob, Holly, McKayla and Nathan; 3 great-grandchildren; caregiver and special friend, Bertha Simmons. Her funeral service will be at Russell Funeral Chapel, Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow at Berkeley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel from 10 o'clock to the hour of service.
