Lawrence Moyer Obituary

MOYER, Lawrence CPO Lawrence Harvey Larry Moyer, Sr., US Navy, Ret., 77, of Macedonia, SC, died Jan. 10, 2005, in Dade City, FL. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon, April 24, 2005, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will follow in the Moyer Family Cemetery, with military honors and Masonic Rites by Mount Hope Lodge #128 AFM. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of service on Sunday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the St. Michael Lutheran Church, 321 West Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461. CPO Moyer was born June 25, 1927, in Allentown, PA, a son of Harvey James Moyer and Flora Catherine Ohl Moyer. He was a combat veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. He was a life member of the VFW Post 10256 Goose Creek where he twice served as All American Commander and held offices at the district and state level. He was a life member of the Military Order of the Cootie Pup Tent 11, and American Legion Post 147 James Island. He was a member of the 40 and 8 Voyageur 1354 Murrells Inlet, the Fleet Reserve Association, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the Mt. Hope Lodge #128 AFM, the Scottish Rite, the Omar Shrine Temple, and the Berkeley Shrine Club. He was also a member of the National Rifle Assoc. and was a retired Assistant Fire Chief for the Alvin Volunteer Fire Department. CPO Moyer was a graduate of Coopersburg High School, Coopersburg, PA, and attended Trident Technical College. He was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. Surviving are, his wife, Barbara Ann Butts Moyer; a daughter, Debra Jean Kidder of West Ashley; three sons, Lee W. Moyer of James Island, and Lawrence (Larry) H. Lucky Moyer, Jr., and Alan J.
