Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Elder, Jr. SUMMERVILLE - Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Elder, Jr., 71, of Summerville, husband of Lucille J. Elder, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at Trident Medical Center. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9 o'clock AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church, 11001 Dorchester Road, Summerville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Mr. Elder was born on February 9, 1944 in Bradford, PA, son of the late Lawrence Joseph Elder, Sr., and Sarah L. Fiscle Elder. Although born in Bradford, PA he spent his childhood and early adult years in McKeesport, PA. He was a 1st Lt. in the US Army having served in Vietnam. He retired from Safway, Inc. as Vice President of Human Resources. He was a Clemson Master Gardener. He will be most remembered as a loving husband, greatest father and grandfather and the best brother. Survivors, including his wife Lucille, are one daughter and two sons: Kristine L. Bord of Summerville, Michael L. Elder of Charleston and Lawrence Joseph Elder, III of Summerville, five grandchildren: Nathan, Michael, David and Christian Bord all of Summerville and Lydia Elder of Mt. Pleasant, three sisters: Sarah Joan Elder, Patricia Ann Elder and Suzan Jean Elder and one niece and two nephews: Jennifer Kane, Vincent and Andrew DeNezza.
