Lavert Myrick Obituary

Mr. Lavert Watson Myrick, better known as ?Mike? was born on February 7, 1918 in Sheffield, Alabama, to the late Byrd and Minnie Myrick. Mike went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.

He was married to the late Bessie W. Myrick. Mike was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Harrison Street, Petersburg, where he served as a Trustee for over 40 years, until his health began to decline. He joined the United States Army. Mike was self-employed and worked at Central State Hospital.

Mike was known for his delicious home-cooked meals, he enjoyed fishing and was a die-hard Washington Redskins Fan.

He leaves to cherish his memories, an adopted daughter, Angie Johnson, along with her daughter and grandchildren; a devoted long-time friend, James Crump, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. Lavert W. "Mike" Myrick will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, Va., the Rev.Robert Jameson Interment to follow at the Dinwiddie Memorial Park.

I AM DEEPLY SORRY TO HEAR OF THE DEATH OF LAVERT.I KNEW HIM WELL BECAUSE HE HAD BEEN MARRIED TO MY COUSIN LOUISE WYNN.IWAS UNABLE TO ATTEND THE SERVICE
BUT HE WILL BE REMBERED.
