Laura Barra Obituary

Laura Joan Barra CHARLESTON - Laura Joan Barra, 46, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024. She was born in New York but lived in South Carolina for most of her life. She attended Conway High School and Bishop England and grew up on South Carolina's east coast with her parents and many siblings. Laura is survived by her parents, Paul and Joan Barra of Columbia, SC; and by her children: Naomi Lee Barra (Kellen Robinson) of Charleston, SC; Gabriel Angelo Barra (Mariah Drake) of Woonsocket, RI; and Isaiah Manuel Barra of Columbia, SC. Her siblings are all of SC: Pauline Barra Peters of Roebuck; Anna Barra Alishauskas (Thomas) of Harleyville; Marne Barra Jenkins (John) of Columbia; Charles Paul Barra (Kristen Kurtz) of Conway; Jennifer Barra Smith (Jamie) of Johnston; and Carlos Lopez (Yulia) of Hanahan. Laura is predeceased by her brother, Michael Alfred Barra of Spartanburg, SC. She was a loving and caring mother as well as a beautiful daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Her beauty came from within and her heart touched so many. Family and friends are invited to drop by and celebrate her life and to remember the good times. She adored children so please bring yours! Laura's celebration of life will be Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 12-2 pm at 701 Whaley Street, Columbia, SC.
