Aunt Laura was a kind and loving Christian lady. I didn't get to see her very often except at family reunions when she came to Georgia, however, my wife and I were fortunate to be able to visit her and Vic back in August of 2000. I regret that I was unable to see her again before her passing, but I know I will see her again in Heaven.

Laura was a good friend of our family for at least 50 years. She sat with my mother, Doris Burkett, for several years during the last part of her life. I talked to Laura long distance probably just a few weeks before she died and she was so happy to talk with me. She told me all about her family....she sure loved her grandchildren! I will always remember her.

You have, and shall always be, a guiding light to those who were lucky enough to have known you. By touching the hearts and souls of many you came across, you will forever be remembered as the loving mother, caring schoolteacher, and grounded rock that not only myself has had the fortune of relying on.
You shall never be forgotten for we shall hold you in our hearts forever and remember that tempermental woman who loved us with abandon and gave us strength to carry on even through the darkest times in our lives.
We love you Mema.

You will always hold a special place in my heart. When I was down, you always made me feel so special. I know you are with God now and he will take good care of you.

Miss Laura was an encouragement to me as a pastor. She loved her Savior and now rests with Him.

Mema, I can not beleive that you are gone. I know that you are in a much better place and most of all that you are with Papa again. I know that you are both so happy. You deserve it. Have fun and please watch over all of us and guide us from above. We love you Mema
