Larry Stokes Obituary

STOKES, Larry Larry Dale Stokes, 68 of Holderness, NH, formerly of Goose Creek and Summerville, SC, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Darmouth-Hitchcock MC in NH. Born and raised in Ridgeville, SC, he was the son of the late Larus Stokes and Ruth Herndon Stokes Bolen. He graduated from Harleyville-Ridgeville High School. The relatives and friends of Larry D. Stokes are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 11:00 am, James Island Presbyterian Church, 1632 Fort Johnson Rd, James Island, SC. A memorial service will be held in Holderness, NH at a later date. He was a self-employed truck driver for most of his life. He was a USAF Veteran. He retired 2 years ago from All Transportation in Summerville, SC. For the majority of the last 2 years, he made his home in NH with his daughter, Terri and son-in-law, Gregg. His "2nd home" was in SC with his daughter, Tammy and her family. He is survived by his children, Tammy Tucker (Wayne) of James Island, SC, Terri Baker (Gregg) of Holderness, NH, Dale Stokes (Sondra) of St. George, SC; brothers, Raymond H Stokes of Lynchburg, VA and Bruce Bolen of Chas, SC; Grandchildren, Daniel & Eric Potter of NH; Jacob, Anthony & Thomas Stokes; Shelby & Haley Tucker all of SC; and former spouse, Dora Stokes.
