Larry Noble Obituary

Larry Donell Noble JONESBORO, GA - Larry Donell Noble, 59, of Jonesboro, GA, departed this life on February 25, 2014. He was a person who embraced life, loved his family, traveled, loved to laugh and take charge of things. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Herman and Elizabeth Sutter Noble. Larry retired from The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority in 2013 and also was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union. Larry was also a member of the Mt. Herron No. 002 Mason Lodge. He previously worked several jobs to provide for his family, including working as a truck driver for J.B. Hunt, transportation engineer for safety carrier and a supervisor for Williams Services, Inc. in Columbia, SC. He was a graduate of Keenan High School and earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Business from Rutledge College, Columbia, SC. In addition, he served his country from 1973-78 in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Emily Rickenbacker Baynard. He is survived by one daughter, Bridget S. Noble of Goose Creek, SC; two brothers, Herman Noble, Jr. (LaBen) and Eddie Noble (Cynthia); a brother-in-law, Edgar Baynard, all of Philadelphia, PA; three nephews: Darius Rickenbacker (Kim) Norristown, PA, and Brandon Noble and Jaynova Noble, both of Columbia, SC; one niece, Jayla Noble, Columbia, SC; special friends, Peleta H. Johnson and Willie Baker of Atlanta, GA; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home (2930 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC) with burial at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. A final viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to service. Floral arrangements and plants can be ordered through DeLoach Florists at (800) 922-2707.
