He was born on January 20, 1941 in Salisbury NC. Parents were George Washington Miller and Clara "Curt" Murph Miller, who are deceased. Larry is survived by his wife, Wynette T. Miller of Goose Creek; son, Larry Douglas (Doug) Miller, Jr. of Salisbury, NC; daughter, Amy Miller Brown (David) of Linwood, NC; son, Turner Wilson Miller of Houma, LA; stepson, Kevin Ray (Esther) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister, Georgia Miller Almond (Ralph) of Granite Quarry, NC; granddaughters, Tanya Brown Schott (Stephen) and Kathern Brown, both of Linwood, NC; great-granddaughters, Lilly and Alissa Schott. Visitation and viewing will be at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service on Thursday April 24 at Riverbluff Church, 5421 Riverbluff Parkway, North Charleston. Open casket from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with service to begin at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park. Larry was Service and General Manager for Tarheel Industrial Equipment and RimTrax in Salisbury, NC, and transferred to Charleston, SC in 1989 with Construction Equipment Sales as General Manager. He had a long career with John Deere Heavy Construction Equipment Dealers and developed a successful home business, L&W Services, buying and selling new & salvage equipment internationally. He began his career as an auto mechanic, learning the trade from his father, who owned a successful auto repair business, GM's Auto Service, in Salisbury. He was owner of Larry's Motorama auto service station in Salisbury before he began his career with John Deere dealerships. His motto was "I can fix that" and he could fix anything! Larry was an active member of Riverbluff Church, where he served as a deacon and home small group leader. He was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and fixing up old cars. Larry had a heart transplant in June 2001 and was blessed with another 13 years of life. He received a woman's heart and would proudly tell everyone along with a few jokes. He and his wife Wynette were married June 21, 2003 surrounded by their children, family, and friends. We are especially grateful to the staff of DCI Archdale, who took great care of him in Dialysis 3 days a week and the staff of Life Care Center of Charleston while in rehab. We are also thankful to the heart transplant staff at MUSC who followed Larry for those 13 years and to the fifth floor Ashley River Tower staff who took such wonderful care of him during many hospital stays. Flowers and plants accepted or donations requested to Midland Park Community Ministries, 2427 Midland Park Road, North Charleston, SC 29406, where he served as a volunteer for many years. Other suggestions, the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation. Any of these would be appreciated. Services by Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations. We were very blessed to know and love Larry & Wynette and be a part of their small group! Larry was so so full of life and loved to share Jesus and the gift of salvation to anyone who would listen! Larry was a very strong man with a woman's heart and fought a great fight! He loved his wife and family very much! Through the years I have seen him grow leaps and bounds in his faith and looked forward to the day he would get to see Jesus eye to eye! Well Heaven got their angel back... but we sure are going to miss you here!!!! We love you Larry Miller!!!!!!

I'd like to give my condolences to Mrs Miller, children, siblings and all Larry's family. Larry was such a great guy. I often talked to my husband about him. We were both patience at DCI clinic. I saw him as a fun loving, sincere and lighthearted kinda guy! We often talked and he told me how he met and captured :), his wife, he also told me about his heart and getting it from a female made him easy to cry. He was just so very nice and friendly I will miss seeing him. I really loved his personality. May GOD help you all in this transition. GOD has placed him in his blossom and he will be fine now!!!

Larry was my second daddy. I grew up with them if I was not at home I was at their house. I know my daddy " his best friend" welcomed him in heaven with arms wide open. To Doug and Amy I love both of you and I am truly heartbroken for you. May god give you comfort and peace in knowing he is no longer in pain.

Larry will be sorely missed by all. He was kind and thoughtful, always willing to help, share advice and was so wonderfully optimistic. He was a role model to me and he was the man who opened my eyes to Heaven. It was a genuine pleasure to know him and spend time with him at family function. I will see you in Heaven someday dear friend.
